Darren S. Rockman

Managing Partner

Darren is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Goldrock Capital, which was launched together with Daniel Goldman in 2008. Darren and Daniel have been working together since 2001, co-managing Goldman Investments – an investment advisory firm to UK based family clients. Darren spearheaded the diversification of alternative investments for the firm’s clients and also led direct investment activities in private Israeli companies on behalf of the firm’s clients.

Darren was directly involved in the investment and subsequent floatation of Invu, a UK-based document management software company, on the UK AIM market. In addition, Darren serves on the Board of Directors at Peninsula Finance, Lightech, and PNMsoft.

In the context of alternative investments, Darren’s main responsibilities include building successful investment portfolios such as commodities, structured debt, real estate, as well as the management of distressed situations. With a long term investment outlook, Darren had the foresight to invest in Eastern European real estate development in 2002, gold bullion in 2004, and agricultural commodities in 2007, among other investments.

Prior to joining Goldman Investments in 2001, Darren was a Founding Director of Tradeum Technologies, which was sold to VerticalNet in 2000 for $470 million. From 1996 to 2000, Darren was a Co-Founder of IsraTec, a strategic and marketing consulting firm, which provided advisory services to successful Israeli technology companies such as Combox, Shopping.com, and EZchip. In addition, Darren is a corporate lawyer who practiced in the 1990s at the firm now known as Allens, Arthur, Robinson in Australia. Darren holds degrees in law and economics from Monash University in Australia.

Darren, born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, came to live in Israel in 1994. During his first year in Israel, he shared an apartment in Jerusalem with two flat-mates – one of which was Daniel Goldman. Today, Darren resides with his wife, Yael, and their four children in Modi’in. Outside of work, Darren is an active member of his local synagogue, serves on the board of Midreshet Bet Shemesh, a social and educational non-profit, and enjoys cooking.
